Commons courts. Since we will not have access to any indoor back-up courts, Friday July 25
will be retained as a rain date.
– There will be two sessions each morning, 8-10
am and 10:30-12:30
. Maximum capacity for each session will be 50 campers. Campers can sign up for both sessions if they wish.
– Camp will focus on individual skill development while maintaining social distancing and no direct contact. There will be no games or scrimmages per NYS guidelines.
Camp safety policy:
Parents may drop off their children 15 min before each session. Campers may not leave their vehicle until a camp staff member has completed the health question screening process( NYS provided questions) and a temperature check has been completed. Upon leaving their vehicle all campers must be wearing a mask and will be directed to the appropriate court. Campers should bring their own water to camp each day. We will have limited bottled water in case a camper forgets their water. Campers can not share their water. Koubek camp staff will maintain a log of all daily screening confirmations for every camper and report any exceptions as required.
There will be six campers assigned to each basket and we will use the half court to maintain proper distancing between campers. Campers will be assigned to the same basket for the entire week’s session and will not move from that court. This will reduce possible contact with other campers and assist in maintaining distancing. If a camper must leave the court to go to the bathroom or for any other reason, they will be required to wear their mask. Campers will not be required to wear masks while completing their workouts.
Camp drills will focus on individual development and will include shooting, stationary and movement ball handling drills as well as defensive footwork. The design will provide skills the camper can take home and practice throughout the summer to improve their personal skill set.
All Camp staff will wear masks prior to the start of the session and after the session. Coaches when instructing the campers will wear a mask if they are within six feet of any camper. Hand sanitizer will be provided at each court and campers will be required to sanitize their hands at each 1/2 hour water break.
Designed specifically to provide a positive environment for boys and girls ages 5-14. We aim to excite our campers and introduce the game of basketball by teaching the basic fundamentals through a variety of drills, contests, and games. Traditional League Play throughout the week will culminate on Friday with championship tournaments for each age group. Daily activities will start at 8am (drop-offs available from 7:30am) and will end at Noon each day.
This camp is recommended for beginner to intermediate players.
